Industrial Hygiene
Mission
It is the mission of the Industrial Hygiene (IH) Department to provide periodic surveys of all commands assigned to Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, Marine Corps Air Station-New River, Camp Geiger, Camp Johnson, Stone Bay and the Navy and Marine Corps Reserve and Recruiting Units in North Carolina. Surveys are conducted to accurately assess worker exposures to chemical, physical and biological agents in the workplace and to provide recommendations for their reduction or elimination, as well as provide a basis for medical surveillance examinations.
Services
In accordance with OPNAV Instruction 5100.23 Series, IH conducts baseline, periodic, annual, and special surveys upon request.
