Primary Care

Welcome to the NMCCL Primary Care landing page. Please use the navigation menu to the left to scroll through the areas of care.

Primary care is a health service you get from a primary care provider or primary care manager (or PCM) during a doctor’s visit. Some of these services include:

• Routine care, like an annual physical exam
• Medical treatment for nonemergency or nonurgent care
• Follow-up care if you have ongoing medical problems
• Preventive health care, like immunizations and allergy shots
• Family planning
• Patient education and counseling

Primary care also includes medically necessary diagnostic laboratory and X-ray procedures and tests. Primary care is used to treat adults and children, including infants and newborns.

Nurse-Led Protocols in the Primary Care (Family Medicine) Clinic

Do you have a sore throat or runny nose?
Do you think you may be suffering from a urinary tract infection?
Some common conditions can be handled right in our Primary Care (Family Medicine) Clinic rather than waiting in the Emergency Department!
Get fast, direct care for common illnesses like upper respiratory infection, sore throat, or UTI.
Take a look at this process for being seen for common conditions. Present to either the Blue/Gold Team or Red/White Team desk and a Primary Care Clinic nurse will assess symptoms to determine if you are eligible for treatment then and there.

Don't forget to keep your family's information up to date in DEERS!
