The Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune Allergy Clinic has a board-certified allergist/immunologist and an experienced team to care for your allergy and immunology needs with a full complement of diagnostic and therapeutic resources.  We are proud to offer evidence-based stratification and treatment to provide the highest quality care to our patients with allergies and immunologic concerns. 

Services

Provider Information

Lieutenant Commander Robert Wauters
Robert H. Wauters, MD is a Board-Certified Allergist/Immunologist as well as Board-Certified Internal Medicine doctor at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, responsible for care in the Allergy and Immunology clinic.  He began this position in July of 2020.  He graduated from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School 2013.  After an Internal Medicine internship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, he served 2 years as the General Medical Officer for Combat Logistics Regiment 25 stationed on Camp Lejeune.  He returned to Bethesda, MD to complete both his Internal Medicine residency in 2018 and Allergy & Immunology fellowship in 2020.

Commander Marc Kajut
Marc Kajut, MD is a Board-Certified, non-invasive Cardiologist in Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, NC. He received his medical degree from Uniformed Services University (USU) School of Medicine, completed Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), and has been in practice for 8 years.  He specializes in non-invasive cardiology and is experienced in comprehensive echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and coronary CT angiography.

Lieutenant Commander Kathryn Barbante
Kathryn Barbante, MD is a Dermatologist at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, responsible for management of skin conditions, minor skin surgeries, laser procedures and inpatient consults.  She graduated from University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2009 and Uniformed Services University for medical school in 2013.  After a Family Medicine internship at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, she served as a flight surgeon for 4 years in Iwakuni, Japan and MCAS Miramar.  She returned to complete her Dermatology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego in 2018 and after graduating, moved to Camp Lejeune in July 2021 for her utilization tour.

Lieutenant Commander Nolan Colin
Colin F. Nolan, MD is a Board-Certified Dermatologist at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.  He provides medical dermatologic services including care for skin, hair, nails, surgery, and laser-based treatments.  He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2011 and his M.D. at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC in 2015. He then completed a transitional year internship at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. Beginning in 2017, he served as a flight surgeon for Carrier Air Wing Seven (CVW 7) for three years and deployed onboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) during its record-breaking 2019-2020 deployment. In 2023, he completed his residency in Dermatology at Naval Medical Center San Diego where he served as Chief Resident. He enjoys teaching residents, PA/NP students, and medical students daily in his clinic where future providers are educated in the treatment of skin disease.  He treats skin conditions in all ages and has a special interest in medical and laser dermatology.

 

Mission

The Gastroenterology (GI) Clinic at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune is staffed by board-certified gastroenterologists and an Advanced PracticeProvider, along with a world-class team of nurses and hospital corpsmen.  The clinic’s mission is to provide the most up-to-date, evidence-based, and compassionate care in diagnosing and managing diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, biliary system, and pancreas.

Services

The clinic’s gastroenterologists perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (e.g., EGD and colonoscopy) in routine outpatient cases and urgent inpatients as well.  Patients may be referred to the GI Clinic by their primary care providers.  We are currently serving active-duty personnel only. - Diagnostic/therapeutic endoscopy, including screening for colorectal cancer

Provider Information

Lieutenant Commander Michael “Mickey” Skaret
Mickey Skaret, MD is a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist and Internist at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, where he practices the full scope of general Gastroenterology, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system, as well as performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.  Dr. Skaret is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University.  He has authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals on healthcare quality, general Internal Medicine, and Gastroenterology, and has presented his scholarly activity at the national level.  Dr. Skaret completed his undergraduate education at Florida State University and obtained his MD degree from the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine through the Navy’s Health Professions Scholarship Program.  He completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, where he subsequently served as a Staff Hospitalist and departmental subject matter expert for health information technology, patient safety, and transitions of care.  Dr. Skaret then completed fellowship training in Gastroenterology at Naval Medical Center San Diego prior to his move to Camp Lejeune.
 
Lora Davis, FNP
Lora Davis is a Family Nurse Practitioner working in the Gastroenterology clinic at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune. She provides care for a number of esophageal, gastric, and bowel disorders. She graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing with her Master’s of Science in Nursing in 2006. She and her family moved to North Carolina from Tennessee in 2017. She started at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune in March 2021. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children, especially at the beach!
 

Mission

The Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune Infectious Disease Clinic has a board-certified infectious disease physician proud to offer state of the art infectious diseases care to our patients.

Services

We offer adult inpatient and outpatient infectious diseases consultations, as well as comprehensive care for active-duty service members living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).  We also offer pre-travel physician counseling for all active-Duty service members and their beneficiaries (including adults and children) in our Travel Clinic.  We have an experienced team working together to provide the highest quality care to our patients. Lieutenant Commander Laura Gilbert
Laura Jean Gilbert, MD, MPH, FACP is a Board-Certified Internist and Infectious Diseases physician, responsible for inpatient and outpatient adult infectious diseases consultations at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune.  She graduated from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 2013 and completed both her Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Diseases fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in 2016 and 2021, respectively.

Lieutenant Commander Piotr Wisniewski
Piotr Wisniewski, MD, is a board-certified infectious disease and internal medicine physician at 2d Medical Battalion and Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune.  Dr. Wisniewski provides clinic and inpatient consultative care including all infectious diseases, travel medicine, and internal medicine.  He graduated from San Diego State University and earned his MD at Uniformed Services University.  He completed his internal medicine residency and infectious disease fellowship at Naval Medical Center San Diego.  He then served as department head of Clinical Trials Department at Operational Infectious Diseases Directorate within Navy Health Research Center.  He started to practice in Camp Lejeune in September of 2023.

Lieutenant Commander Matthew Biscotti
Matthew Biscotti, MD is a Board-Certified, General Internist at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, responsible for primary care services, consultative medicine, and inpatient medical care.  He began this position in July of 2021.  He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 2009 and Drexel University College of Medicine in 2013.  After an Internal Medicine internship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, he served 2 years as the General Medical Officer for 2D Battalion 2D Marines stationed in Camp Lejeune.  He returned to complete his Internal Medicine residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in 2018.  Completed a utilization tour at Naval Hospital Bremerton from 2018-2021.
 
Lieutenant Laura Barba-Ruiz
Laura Barba-Ruiz, DO is a General Internist at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, responsible for primary care services, consultative medicine, and inpatient medical care.  She began this position in Oct of 2022.  She graduated from University of Virginia with dual majors in Biomedical Engineering and East Asian Studies.  Before pursuing a career in medicine, she taught abroad and performed pharmaceutical research.  She graduated from Campbell University medical school in 2017 then attended Internal Medicine residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.  After completing residency, she completed brief tours at Ft. Belvoir Community Hospital and Lemoore Naval Air Station before coming to Camp Lejeune.

We have board-certified neurologists working together with an experienced team to provide the highest quality of care. We provide care for a variety of conditions affecting the central and peripheral nervous system. We offer thorough neurologic evaluations for a variety of diagnoses and services performed by specialty-trained technicians. In addition, we partner with various regional medical centers to facilitate a range of other specialized diagnostics

Lieutenant Command Keith Ryan
Keith Ryan, MD is a General Neurologist at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, responsible for outpatient and inpatient care of patients with neurologic disorders. He began this position in July 2024. He graduated from University of California Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cell Biology, Neurobiology in 2010. He obtained his MD at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 2017. He completed an Internal Medicine internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego prior to serving as a General Medical Officer with MALS-13 at MCAS Yuma. He completed neurology residency in 2024 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
 
Lieutenant Commander Zoe Marinides
Zoe Marinides, MD is a Board-Certified General Neurologist at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, responsible for outpatient and inpatient care of patients with neurologic disorders.  She began this position in July 2022. She graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biophysics in 2010.  She subsequently completed her MD at the New York University School of Medicine in 2014, earning her commission through the Health Professionals Scholarship Program (HPSP).  She completed an Internal Medicine internship at Walter Reed National Military Medicine from 2014-2015, then completed an Operational Medicine tour serving as an Undersea Medical Officer in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  She then returned to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to complete her adult neurology residency from 2019-2022.

The Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune Pulmonology Clinic provides the highest quality outpatient care in pulmonary medicine from our board-certified critical care pulmonologists. We offer comprehensive state of the art pulmonary assessment, diagnostics, and disease management to our patients in a timely and concerned manner. Patients are seen by appointment through routine referral tracking or by emergency consultation request. The Pulmonology Clinic currently services all beneficiaries, over the age of 18 years. Commander Thuy Lin
Thuy Lin, MD is a Board-Certified Pulmonary and Critical Care physician at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, responsible for pulmonary services, as well as inpatient medical services in the Intensive Care Unit.  She is also the ICU Medical Director. She has been stationed at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune since July 2023.  She graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry in 1999.  She then graduated from Louisiana State University in Shreveport Health Sciences Center in 2005. She underwent Internal Medicine Internship, Residency, and Fellowship at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Her prior duty station includes Naval Medical Center San Diego, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, and Okinawa, Japan as the 4^th Marine Regimental Surgeon.
 
Lieutenant Commander Christopher Shank
Christopher Shank MD is a Board-Certified Pulmonary and Critical Care physician at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, responsible for pulmonary services as well as the Fundamentals of Critical Care Support course.  He has been stationed at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune since August 2023.  He graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2011.  He then graduated from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences School of Medicine in 2015 with a Doctorate in Medicine.  He underwent Internal Medicine internship at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center from 20-15-2016.  He subsequently served for 2 years as a Battalion medical officer for an infantry battalion from 2016-2018, after which he returned to training for Internal Medicine residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center from 2018-2020. Then, from 2020-2023 he trained in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
