Preventive Medicine

Focuses primarily on minimizing illness through enforcement of sanitation standards, including the inspection of food and water establishments, child care centers, gymnasium and pool facilities, barber shops, and other places where diseases may be spread. 
For temporary food events such as bake sales and/or fund raising events that involve food, a Temporary Food Event Coordinator's Application or DD 2795 needs to be filled out by the event coordinator and approved by the Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune Preventive Medicine Department.  All temporary food events are handled case by case.  It is highly recommended that the event coordinator email Preventive Medicine to see specific guidelines for the event at usn.lejeune.navhospclnc.list.nmccl-prevmed@mail.mil.
Failure to do so could delay the review /approval process.  Requests will be approved within 72 hours of receipt.

Immunization issuance is handled by the Immunizations Division at BLDG 65, which is responsible for the ordering, proper storage and handling, and distribution of vaccines. 
 
The number of on-hand vaccines should not exceed the number of vaccines your unit uses in a 24 hour period. Units are to submit requests electronically to usn.lejeune.navhospclnc.list.nmccl-prevmed@mail.mil  at least 24 hours prior to pick-up.  Click to download an Immunization Request Form. 

Immunization Pick-up Hours:
Monday–Thursday: 8–11 a.m. & 1–3 p.m.
Friday: 8–11 a.m.

Requesting Units will comply with the proper transporting, storage procedures, and provide proof of cold storage training.
