Intrepid Spirit celebrates 10 years of healing and hope

The Intrepid Spirit Center at Camp Lejeune will celebrate its 10-year anniversary on Oct. 2, 2023. The mission of an ISC is to care for those who have suffered a traumatic brain injury and associated comorbidities such as chronic pain or post-traumatic stress disorder. Intrepid provides an interdisciplinary care team to create individual treatment plans for patients, meaning all services are together under one roof.

Expeditionary Medical Facility Kilo completes readiness exercise, earns deployment-ready status

Expeditionary Medical Facility Kilo successfully completed its Operational Readiness Evaluation June 14-21 in Camp Pendleton, California. Approximately 134 EMF Kilo personnel trained in setting up and operating a 50-bed, medical treatment facility. The exercise resulted in formal certification the team is deployment-ready. Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, Novant Health announce new psychiatry residency program

Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune Director Captain Kevin Brown helps announce the Psychiatry Residency Program, a partnership with Novant Health, UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine. The program’s establishment was formally announced during a presentation at Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Wilmington on May 22, 2023. The Psychiatry Residency Program will consist of seven residents, three military members and four civilians, with the purpose of boosting the mental health resources for active duty and civilian beneficiaries in Eastern North Carolina.
