April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response team will be promoting awareness with several events throughout the month. The goal is to raise awareness, create and promote a culture free from sexual assault, and help victims by resource sharing.

New electronic health record goes live at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune

The Military Health System’s new electronic health record for Department of Defense medical sites, MHS GENESIS, is officially live at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune. At 7 a.m. on March 19, NMCCL staff began using the new system for patient care for active duty service members, retirees, and their families.

Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune graduated the inaugural class of physician assistant students on March 4, 2022 during a combined graduation and commissioning ceremony. Eight officer candidates graduated from the Interservice Physician Assistant Program.

After an 18-month pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune is reviving their STEM outreach with local area schools. On February 16, anatomy and physiology students at Lejeune High School aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune got a close-up look at what a heartbeat looks like during an echocardiogram presentation from NMCCL staff.

United States Navy Lieutenant Kenneth J. Bush was recently recognized as Navy Medicine’s Junior Information Technology Officer of the Year for 2021. Bush serves as a department head and Chief Information Officer for Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune’s Information Management Department.
