NMCCL doctor serves as team physician for USA Hockey

NAVAL MEDICAL CENTER CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina — U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander Douglas Weiss, who serves as an orthopedic surgeon at NMCCL is also a Team Physician for the men’s USA Hockey Team. From the operating room to the ice hockey rink, Weiss’ desire to serve his country in various roles is evident. What once began as a hobby growing up, Weiss has been instrumental in turning the sport of hockey into a vital element for fostering a liaison between the Navy and USA Hockey.

On May 12, 2021, the Marine Corps Air Station New River Marine Corps Exchange will become the location for an Asteres ScriptCenter automated kiosks and locker system. This new kiosk system is the first of its kind to be used by NMCCL

New ScriptCenter provides additional options for prescription refills

MCAS NEW RIVER, NC — Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune’s Pharmacy Department will soon have an additional option for beneficiaries to obtain their prescriptions. On May 12, 2021, the Marine Corps Air Station New River Marine Corps Exchange will become the location for an Asteres ScriptCenter automated kiosks and locker system. This new kiosk system is the first of its kind to be used by NMCCL.

Recently, Hospital Corpsman Denisse Estrada Suarez was recognized for her commitment to our patients while serving at the Wallace Creek COVID-19 Vaccine site. HN Estrada Suarez used her bilingual skillset to translate a vaccine questionnaire to overcome language barriers that would have prevented some recipients from receiving the vaccine.

NMCCL's Corpsman receives recognition for her impact in the fight against COVID

CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina — Hospital Corpsman Denisse Estrada Suarez was recognized for her commitment to our patients while serving at the Wallace Creek COVID-19 Vaccine Site.

Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune’s leadership recognized the one-year establishment of the Acute Respiratory Clinic and COVID-19 Screening site aboard MCB Camp Lejeune on March 15, 2021. The ARC and COVID-19 Screening site were established on March 18, 2020 in response to the outbreak of COVID-19.

NMCCL Acute Respiratory Clinic/COVID-19 Site passes one-year mark

CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina — One team, one fight. Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune’s leadership recognized the one-year establishment of the Acute Respiratory Clinic and COVID-19 Screening site aboard MCB Camp Lejeune on March 15, 2021.

NMCCL welcomed eight Officer Candidates as part of the Medical Center's Interservice Physician Assistant Program. NMCCL will serve as a pilot site for Phase II of year-long program.

CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina — Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune has welcomed its inaugural class of Physician Assistant students to the Medical Center as part of a pilot program. The students arrived on January 19, 2021 to begin a year-long journey with military medicine’s Interservice Physician Assistant Program or IPAP.
