Navy Chaplains lead suicide prevention workshops at Camp Lejeune

CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina — September is recognized nationally as Suicide Prevention Month and Navy Chaplains at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina hosted an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshop to train attendees to recognize early warning signs of self-harm/suicidal thoughts and how to intervene.

Expeditionary Medical Facility Kilo Sailors hone skills at Global Medic 24

FORT MCCOY, WISCONSIN — U.S. Sailors from Expeditionary Medical Facility Kilo integrated with U.S. Marine Corps Forces Reserve 4th Medical Battalion to participate in Exercise Global Medic 2024, an annual multinational, multicomponent collective training exercise that ran from Aug. 3-16 in Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.

The award is given by HonorBridge, the largest organ procurement organization in the states of North Carolina and Virginia, to facilities that provide dedicated, compassionate care to organ donors. NMCCL cared for a Marine earlier this year whose final act was the selfless gift of organ donation.

Camp Lejeune, North Carolina — The 2023 Captain Joan Dooling Award Recipients have been named and a Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Camp Lejeune employee has been selected as Information Professional Civilian Member of the Year.

Camp Lejeune — Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Camp Lejeune has been awarded the 2023 Blue H Navy Surgeon General’s Health Promotion and Wellness Award, Gold Star level, in recognition for excellence in workplace health promotion and wellness programs July 2, 2024.

Upgraded medical, dental clinic opens for Marines and Sailors at Marine Corps Air Station New River

JACKSONVILLE, North Carolina — Marine Corps Air Station New River has a brand new, state-of-the-art medical and dental facility for Marines and Sailors attached to 2nd Marine Air Wing. Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune celebrated the opening of the new Marine Centered Medical Home (MCMH) New River with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 26, 2024.

Blayne Brown is surrounded by his team of health care professionals at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune on June 25, 2024. Brown was transported to the NMCCL Trauma Center from North Topsail Beach on June 23 after suffering extensive wounds to his right leg from a shark bite. Brown was cared for by a team of providers at NMCCL; he will soon travel home to West Virginia to complete recovery.

NAVAL MEDICAL CENTER CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina — Blayne Brown, 14, thanks his health care team at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune for their care of his injuries after a shark bite on June 23, 2024, off the shores of North Topsail Beach, North Carolina.

NMCCL Sailors train with MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River in extreme weather exercise

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina — Sailors assigned to Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune (NMCCL) and its branch clinics are prepared for the Atlantic Hurricane Season. NMCCL trained with Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River aboard both installations during a multi-day weather exercise from June 10-13, 2024.

New commander and director welcomed at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune (NMCCL) hosted a Change of Command and Directorship ceremony on May 21, 2024, at Marston Pavilion aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. The ceremony is a formal tradition symbolizing the transfer of total responsibility, authority, and accountability from one officer to another.
